(Mock) Friday Night Smackdown - Week 5

Smackdown begins with footage being shown from last weeks brawl and the announcement of tonight’s main event. As the theme music for Smackdown play (The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson), the first match of the night starts right away with a round two match for the Diva’s Title.

Round Two for the Diva’s Title: Maryse vs. Gail Kim

As Kim was greeting the fans, Maryse quickly took advantage and attacked her from behind. Maryse has the upper hand of the match for the first 5 minutes until Kim finally comes back with a couple of moves. In the end, we find Kim doing a springboard Moonsault from off the top ropes and onto Maryse. She goes for the pin, 1…2…3. The winner and advancing to the finals, Gail Kim. Frustrated, Maryse then attacks Kim some more until a couple of refs came down to take her off of Kim.

Backstage, Santino is about to interview Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel who says that after he’s done with Evan Bourne tonight that it will be a sure shot win and Cruiserweight title for Gabriel. Rey then comes in and tells him that he will not be alone tonight and announced that he will accompany Bourne to the ring tonight.

Heath Slater (with Justin Gabriel) vs. Evan Bourne (with Rey Mysterio)

As the bell sounds, Slater tries to go after Bourne, but is too slow as Bourne unloads some fast kicks and punches. Slater finally catches up to him and takes him down for a little while. Fast forward to the end of the match, as Gabriel tried to interfere, Bourne rammed Slater into Gabriel, knocking him to the floor. Bourne then threw Slater out as well. As they tried to get up, Bourne did a suicide dive onto both of them. As Rey was cheering on, out of no where came Edge who then speared Rey onto the floor. Edge then took off into the crowd. Bourne went to see if he was alright but was counted out. So the winner by a countout, Heath Slater. The two then began to attack Bourne and threw him back in the ring. Gabriel then connected with his 450 Splash on Bourne. The two then walked away celebrating what they have just done.

After the break, they show a recap of what just happened and shows what happened during commercial break with Rey helping up Bourne. We now see Teddy Long in his office with Layla by his side having a conversation with JTG. He tells Teddy that he wants Shad in a match next week. Teddy tells him that he will make his wish come true. So it’s Shad vs. JTG, next week. Layla then whispers something into Teddy’s ear and he tells her that he will make that announcement next week as well.

Now we see MVP in the locker room wishing his partner Mark Henry luck on his match tonight. Then we see the Straight Edge Society making their way to the ring.

Mark Henry vs. Luke Gallows

As the match begins, each competitor is trying to knock the other down but they are both too powerful and tough. Finally Mark has the advantage and overpowers him. That was until CM Punk begins to grab Mark’s leg. The ref then signals Punk to leave to ring. Punk is frustrated as Mark continues the overpower Gallows. In the end, we see Mark finishing off Gallows with the World’s Strongest Slam. 1…2…3. The winner is Mark Henry. Punk then comes back, but with this black bag and takes Mark down with it. He then has Gallows hold Mark while he pulls out what looks to be electric clippers. As he was about to shave Mark’s head, out comes MVP to the rescue. He chases them out before they had gotten to Mark’s hair.

In the back, Santino is interviewing Matt Hardy who was preparing for his round two match coming up next. As he was about to say something, Finlay came out of no where and hit Matt in the back of the head with his chillily. Leaving Matt knocked out.

Round Two of the United States title: Matt Hardy vs. Finlay

As Finlay was already in the ring, Matt was struggling to get himself down the ramp. So, Findlay ran to him, grabbed him and threw him in the ring as the bell rang. In an instant, Matt grabbed Finlay, gave him the Twist of Fate finisher and pinned him. 1…2…3. The winner in a record of 5 seconds and advancing to the finals….Matt Hardy. Matt was even surprised at how fast he had won the match, leaving Finlay knock out cold.

In the back, we see Edge talking to Sheamus on how he doesn’t like him too much, but has to get along with him so they could beat Rey and ‘Taker tonight. Sheamus agrees as they both leave the locker room. Rey is shown heading to the ring as well while holding his ribs from the Spear he had received earlier.

Back from the break, they do a recap from what happened earlier between Rey and Edge.

Main Event Tag Match: The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio vs. Sheamus and Edge

Sheamus and Edge both enter the ring to their respective music. As Rey was entering, he stood out until The Undertaker’s music hit. Then as the Deadman came to the ring, Rey went in as well. ‘Taker started the match with Edge. Edge tried an early spear, but missed and ‘Taker took advantage. Unloading moves, including his ‘Old School’. But one thumb to the eye and a clothesline later, ‘Taker was down and in comes Sheamus. He begins to overpower him with a bunch of slams and suplexes. But that wasn’t enough to put down ‘Taker for he had gotten up. Edge comes in again, but was dealt with a Chokeslam. Both men are down. As Edge went and tagged Sheamus, ‘Taker went and tagged Rey as the crowd went wild. Sheamus tried to go after him but Rey was too fast for him. Even to the point where he did the 619 on him. As he went for the West Coast Pop, Edge had come in and gave him a Spear. ‘Taker then took Edge and gave him the Last Ride. Sheamus then gave ‘Taker the Bicycle Kick and he went down. As he went to pin him, ‘Taker had grabbed him and gave him the Chokeslam and pinned him. 1…2…3. The winners are Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker. Rey had tried to celebrate with his partner but ‘Taker had celebrated his own way. Right in the middle of the ring as the lights went purple. Could this be a preview for Summerslam where ‘Taker could once again become the World Heavyweight Champion. We’ll find out this Sunday at Summerslam.
