(Mock) Monday Night Raw - Week 3

Another three hour Raw special begins with Jack Swagger coming into the ring. He talks about how upset he was at losing the first round of the tournament to Randy Orton but like a true American, he says that he will never give up trying to go for the gold. Then he goes to talk about John Cena, bashing him about how much more of an American he is than the ‘Thug Life’ Cena. After a few minutes, Cena comes out to a mixed crowd of cheers and boos. Cena then gets into the face of Swagger and tells him exactly what being an American stands for and then mocks him about him crying that he had lost the first round. He even showed footage of last week of Swagger crying after the lost on the Titantron. Then Jericho pops up on the screen, reminding Cena that they have a match tonight and the winner will face Orton at Summerslam for the vacant title. As Cena’s back was turned, Swagger ran out of the ring, grabbed a chair and was about to swing at Cena. Cena ducked and gave Swagger an Attitude Adjustment, laying Swagger out. The fans went crazy.

After the break, they showed a replay of what just happened and Vicki Guererro didn’t look too happy about what just happened. Ted DiBiase walks in and has a talk with Vicki. He tells her how all he wasn’t happy with the way the company’s direction was in and helps plan to usher Raw into a new era…in due time. Vicki liked the sound of that as Dibiase walked away.

In the back as Cody Rhodes was walking towards the ring, he bumps into The Colons as they wished him good luck. Then he bumps into DiBiase. DiBiase then talks to Cody about how good they were as tag champs, only because he carried the team. All Cody did was stared at him with a cold stare and walked away. At this point, DiBiase looks confused.

Round One of the European Title: Cody Rhodes vs. David Otunga

Back in the ring, we begin another round one of the European Title with the winner to go to Summerslam to face R-Truth in the final. As David Otunga enters the ring, they began showing footage of what had happened to R-Truth last week after the match when William Regal snapped. As a result, R-Truth will not compete tonight and William Regal was suspended until further notice. As Cody Rhodes was entering the ring, this hood-wearing fan jumped from the gates, ran towards Cody and clotheslined him from the back. He then picked up Cody and gave him a series of uppercuts. Security came and finally took the fan away. Leaving Cody in a weaken state, crawling into the ring. Otunga quickly told the ref to ring the bell to start the match. As the bell rang. Otunga right away picked up Cody and gave him his Sidewalk Slam finisher. 1…2…3. The winner and the one to go to the finals in Summerslam is David Otunga. As Otunga leaves the ring, Cody is struggling to get up, confused at what happened.

He then laughs at the site of his opponent as it was ‘The Masked Superstar’. But it was no laughing matter and ‘The Masked One’ was giving him a run for his money. After a few near falls from ‘The Masked One’, Dibiase finally was fed up and took the match more serious. After a couple of more minutes of back and forth action, Dibiase finally win with his move, The Dream Street. DiBiase celebrates in the ring as ‘The Masked Superstar’ is laid out cold.

Back at Vicki’s General Manager’s office, we see that she had called Cena in there. As he came in, she told him that the rules on Raw are going to be different and that he has to play by her games. He said that as long as she or anyone else gets in his way on his quest for the title that he has no problems playing by her rules.

Main Event and Round One of the World Title: John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

Back from the break, it is now time for the main event. It’s a first round match for the World Title between John Cena and Chris Jericho. As they both are in the ring, the bell sounds as Jericho gets in his face talking trash. The exchange blows. The match seesaws during the minutes of the fight with one putting on a submission move on the other. After an exciting 20 minutes, Cena finally applies the STU submission on Jericho, as he was about to tap out, Swagger runs into the ring and immediately pulls the ref out of the ring. The ref then asked what he was doing and Swagger tells him that he was helping out Cena. With that said, the ref signaled the bellkeeper to ring the bell and stop the match. The winner of the bout as a result of a disqualification….Chris Jericho. So Jericho heads to the finals to face Randy Orton. A fumed Cena then chases Swagger all the way to the back and out the building as Swagger jumps in his limo and drove off. Back in the ring, Jericho was still celebrating his unexpected win when all of the sudden out of the crowd came Orton. He turned Jericho around and gave him a RKO, much to the fans delight. The show ends with Orton looking down at Jericho with a smirk on his face.
