(Mock) Friday Night Smackdown - Week 3

Friday Night’s Smackdown opens up with Edge starting up the show, bringing back his talk show, The Cutting Edge. He then opens his show about his run-in last week with the Undertaker and that what the audience saw wasn’t what they really saw and that tonight, there is now running away. So he brings out his guest of the night, Sheamus. He tells Sheamus that they don’t agree on a lot, but they do agree that they are not fond of ‘The Dead Man’. Sheamus agrees and then talks about his match against The Big Show tonight. He says that he doesn’t care how big he is or how powerful. He boost about how much more faster and younger he is and says that after tonight, he will punch his ticket to SummerSlam for the finals. Edge then reminds him that if he and Sheamus win tonight that it would be the two of them, one on one at SummerSlam. They both give each other a long stare. Sheamus then laughs and walks away. Edge then grabs him and tells him what was so funny. Sheamus then tells him that if he knew what was best for him was to take his hands off of him. Then he walks away to the back, leaving Edge upset in the ring.

Round One of the Cruiserweight Title: Justin Gabriel vs. Yoshi Tatsu

After the break, we now begin with our first match of the night. As both competitors entered the ring, they shook hands in sign of respect. As the bell rang, they go back and forth with some great lightspeed action. The match ends with Gabriel finishing Tatsu with his finishing move, The Reverse 180 from off the top rope and scoring the pin. So it will be Justin Gabriel vs. Evan Bourne in the finals for the Cruiserweight Title at SummerSlam.

As Bourne was looking on in the back as he saw who he was up against, Rey Mysterio came in the room and asked him if he was nervous? Bourne told him that he was a bit nervous because this will be his first title should he win. Rey then told him how he felt when he first one the title years back and asked Bourne if he could assist him in training for the match at SummerSlam. Bourne was ecstatic to hear that one of his idols would be willing to train him for his match and agreed.

Round One of the United States Title: Matt Hardy vs. Shad

Back from the break, Matt enters the ring with the crowd going wild. As Shad enters the ring with a rain of boos, they show a clip on the screen on how Shad turned on his partner, JTG once again. As the match starts, Shad quickly over powers Matt with a couple of power moves. Matt stood toe to toe with Shad, but could not match the power of Shad. As he was about to do his finisher, All of the sudden JTG starts to run to the ring to distract Shad. As Shad was distracted, it gave Matt enough time to recoup, turn him around and give him his Twist of Fate finisher. 1…2…3. Matt Hardy advances to the second round while JTG and Shad began to brawl inside the ring. As refs came in, they took them out and began to brawl someone. Eventually more refs came in and successfully broke the two apart.

Back in the General Manager’s office, Teddy Long looks sadden to see how the friendship of Cryme Time had officially ended. That was until Layla enters the room to greet Teddy. As she had some choice words for him, they were disrupted by Santino, who was showing them his brand new ‘Smackdown Draft Pick #2….Santino!’ shirt. As Layla laughed and walked away, Teddy argued with Santino on how he had messed up his chances with her and told him to leave and get ready for his tournament match later tonight.

In the locker room, we find The Straight Edge Society getting ready for their matches tonight.

Round One of the Smackdown Tag Team Titles: Trent Barreta and Tyler Rekes vs. Luke Gallows and C.M. Punk

After the break, we find Trent Barreta and Tyler Rekes already in the ring getting ready for their match. Rekes gets on the mike and says how they are the Smackdown’s Next Best Thing. Before he could put the mike down, The S.E.S. comes in and beats them down. As the bell rings, Gallows immediately goes after Rekes. After a valiant effort and many tries to tag in Barreta, C.M. Punk finishes him off with the GTS (Go To Sleep). The S.E.S. wins and moves on to the finals at SummerSlam. Barreta looks concerned for his partner as he wasn’t even tagged in the match at all.

Edge is in the back coming out of the bathroom when he runs into The Big Show. He tells him that he doubts that he will beat The Undertaker tonight. Edge then reminds him of how Sheamus rose to the top of the ladder faster than himself at a young age when he was on Raw and to not sleep on him. The Big Show stands there with concern.

Round One of the Diva’s Title: Rosa Mendes vs. Serena

Serena is in the ring right now and Rosa Mendes is taking her time walking down the aisles. Serena runs out to grab her and throws her into the ring. As Santino was getting ready for his match his opponent, Drew McIntyre took a look at his shirt and began to laugh. Santino told him that by the end of the night, he will him laugh again (Santino meant to say cry). Drew laughed again as he took himself into the ring. Santino ran in after him and began to get serious on Drew. In appeared that Santino was about to winner when all of the sudden, Drew rolled Santino up for the pin while grabbing his tights to cheat. The ref didn’t see it and counted 1…2…3. Drew McIntyre wins as he walks away laughing once again, leaving Santino in the ring sadden.

Round One of the Diva’s Title: Michelle McCool vs. Gail Kim

As the two ladies entered the ring, Santino is still in the middle of the ring upset at his loss. The refs tried to get him out, but to no luck. Then finally Teddy Long comes out and escorts Santino to the back. Then the bells rings as the two Divas go at it. They exchange a couple of nice body slams and suplexes. The crowd seems to be really into this Diva’s match. After a couple of pin attempts, Gail Kim finally seals the deal by going onto top ropes for a Flying Body Press and the pin. 1…2…3. Gail Kim wins and advances to the next round. Being a sore loser, McCool turns her around and gives her a DDT before walking off to a rain of boos from the fans.

Backstage we find Teddy Long talking with Santino. It seems that whatever Teddy is saying is making Santino a very happy man.

Round One of the World Heavyweight Title: Sheamus vs. The Big Show

As the both enter the ring, Sheamus looks intimidated as The Big Show just gives him the staredown. Sheamus immediately attacks Show but did little to no affect. Show catches him at one point, picked him up and threw him out of the ring. After a few minutes of shaking off Sheamus attacks, he finally weakens to his knees. This signaled for Sheamus Bicycle Kick. He hits Show with it, but was still standing. He does it again, but he still stands. So Sheamus goes to the top ropes and does it from there.
